Membership Rally Held Virtually – Winners Announced
The Past District Commander’s Membership Rally was held Saturday, November 21, 2020. The virtual rally which was based out of Department Headquarters announced the contest winners for the District Commander’s watch and Unity Award.
2020 Iowa Unity Award Report for The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion
Robert W. Colflesh Trophy – The Colflesh Trophy is presented each year to the District in 1st place on Veterans Day and to the Post within that District which has obtained the highest percentage of their growth goal on Veterans Day. The award is announced at the PDC Rally and presented at the Mid-Winter Conference.
Congratulations to 2nd District with 76.04% to goal and John White American Legion Post #650 in Epworth with 100%.
Unity Award – The Unity Award is presented each year to the Legion District Commander, Auxiliary District President and SAL Advisor from the District having the highest combined membership percentage at the Past District Commanders’ Membership Rally. The award is announced at the PDC Rally and presented at the Mid-Winter Conference.
Congratulations to 8th District Commander Tom Ryan, 8th District President Dee Schrodt, and 8th District SAL Advisor Gary Haverman.
American Legion Watch – An American Legion watch is awarded to the District Commander in 1st place in the membership standings at the PDC Rally. The award is announced at the PDC Rally and presented at the Mid-Winter Conference.
Congratulations to 8th District with 79.88 % to goal.
