News from NEC meeting
Several items of importance to Iowa Legionnaires came from the National Executive Committee meeting earlier this week. Following the adjustment in eligibility dates, a small alteration in the Preamble to our National Constitution has been mad. Now instead of Great Wars, the fifth line reads “To preserve the memories and incidents of our association in all wars”. Recitation of the Preamble during the opening of our meetings should include that change. It is available here.
Julius L Shryer Post #430 of Durant was announced as the winner of Post Yearbook category in the judging by the Department Historians. Durant has traditionally submitted an outstanding yearbook and is being recognized this year for that work. Congratulations!
Jacob James, a Boys State delegate sponsored by Rainbow Post #2 in Council Bluffs was announced as one of the 1st Runners-Up for a Samsung scholarship. He will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Congratulations to Council Bluffs for their selection.
