Veterans Day at the Capitol - January 20, 2016
other veterans from all across Iowa will gather at the Capitol on January 21st to
speak with their Senators and Representatives about the issues confronting
veterans and military members in Iowa. There will be an orientation meeting at
Department Headquarters at 9:00 a.m. that morning. From there, Legion family

The American Legion maintains a fully staffed office in Washington, DC to represent veterans in Congress on all legislation concerning veterans and their families.
Additionally, the Department of Iowa has a Legislative Commission to serve as a “watchdog” on all legislation, Federal and State, that affects veterans or The American Legion mandates and programs.
