NATIONAL COMMANDER'S INCENTIVES
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP AWARDS
“I GOT ONE” PINAwarded to any member that signs up one new member. X and V attachment also available for 5 and 10 new members. Order from Post Adjutant. IOWA MEMBERSHIP PINAwarded to any member that signs up 5 new members or 10 renewals or combination thereof. Order from Post Adjutant. SILVER BRIGADEAny member who recruits 25 to 49 NEW members into The American Legion before the May target date will qualify for this award. A silver pin and certificate will be awarded. Certification forms are available from Department Headquarters. GOLD BRIGADEAny member that signs up at least 50 new members before the May target date will be enrolled in the Gold Brigade. First time qualifiers receive: a "Gold Brigade" cap pin, certificate, a Gold Brigade patch, and choice of a jacket, or sweater, or polo shirt with the "Gold Brigade" logo. Special recognition is given in American Legion publications and by the National Commander at the National Convention. Certification forms are available from Department Headquarters. DEPT. RECRUITER OF THE YEARAwarded to the person in the Dept. of Iowa that enrolls the most new members before the May target date. Winner will be awarded a Plaque with his/her accomplishments inscribed thereon. Certified by Post Adjutant. NATIONAL RECRUITER OF THE YEARAwarded to person nationally that signs- up the most new members before the May target date. TARGET BASEBALL CAPEach member of a target post present at Mid-Winter Conference will receive a baseball cap. BOB KERSCHENSKE DEPARTMENT RECRUITER MEMORIAL AWARDAwarded to person who recruits the most NEW members, 30 days prior to State Convention.

LAIRD TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities of less than 500 population. B.A. WEBSTER TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities with from 501 to 1,000 population. C.B. ROBBINS TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities with from 1,001 to 2,000 population. R.A. McGINNIS TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities with from 2,001 to 3,000 population. DANIEL F. STECK TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities with from 3,001 to 4,000 population. B.L. HALLIGAN TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities with from 4,001 to 5,000 population. RAY MURPHY TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities with from 5,001 to 10,000 population. JAMES F. BARTON TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities with from 10,001 to 50,000 population. SERVICE CLUB OF DES MOINES TROPHYAwarded to the post with the highest percentage of average membership for the previous four years. For communities with over 50,000 population.

POST GROWTH AWARDAwarded to any post that has had 1 or more members than the last year for 10 years or more. Figured 30 days prior to State Convention. ROAD-RUNNER PLAQUEAwarded to post that reaches 105% of target. Awarded at Spring Conference. (June 30) POST HONOR RIBBONAwarded to post whose current year membership matches or exceeds their membership on June 30, by December 31. Awarded at Spring Conference. ALL-TIME HIGH RIBBONAwarded to post that exceeds previous all time high membership, awarded at Spring Conference. CERTIFICATE OF MERITORIOUS SERVICEAwarded to post that exceeds previous all time high membership by December 31. Awarded at Spring Conference. 5-YEAR ALL-TIME HIGH AWARDAwarded to post that has achieved five or more consecutive years of all time high membership. Figured 30 days prior to State Convention. Awarded at State Convention.
COUNTY AWARDS
TARGET STARSThree per county. Sent when county reaches target. BLUE RIBBONAwarded to each post of a county after all posts reach target. Awarded at Spring Conference.
DISTRICT AWARDS
TARGET STARSThree per district. DISTRICT HONOR RIBBONAwarded to each district exceeding its pervious year’s membership by the number of posts in its district by May target date.
DISTRICT MEMBERSHIP TROPHIES
ROBERT W. COLFLESH TROPHYAwarded to the district with the highest percentage of assigned target by November 11. Awarded at Mid-Winter Conference. REAR OF THE HORSE AWARDAwarded to the Commander of the first district to reach its assigned target. Awarded at Department Convention. SPAFFORD TROPHYWon by the district and presented to the post which has the highest percentage of its four year average by 30 days prior to the Department Convention. FRONT OF THE HORSE AWARDWon by the district and earned by the Dept Vice Commander with the highest percentage of assigned districts.
